Blandeur

I got two different ideas and feelings from reading this poem. One idea was that the author was asking God to make all things look very similar, flat, or boring in some way. I think the title goes along with that. The title, “Blandeur”, is a made up word, but it gives us that feeling of things being bland. The other idea, however, that I got from this poem was that the author wanted God to do something very amazing. He was saying that it is by God’s power that the landscapes of the world are so different and amazing, but some people choose not to see it that way; therefore, maybe if God suddenly changed the landscapes significantly and made everything look the same, people would be able to see his power.
